Two species newly documented for the flora of Iran from the Arasbaran area

Dracocephalum austriacum L. and Polygonatum verticillatum (L.) All. are reported as new additions to the flora of Iran, from the Arasbaran area. Dracocephalum austriacum is distinguished from other Iranian Dracocephalum species by its pubescent anthers and verticillate ۵-۷ partite leaves. It typically occurs in subalpine to alpine meadows. Polygonatum verticillatum, is closely related to P. sewerzowii but is distinguished by the rough hairs on the dorsal surface of leaves. It inhabits meadows and transitional zones between meadows and Quercus woodlands. Detailed descriptions, photographs, and distribution maps for both species are presented.
