Ethnobotanical Profile of Common Weed Flora in a Region of Pakistan

Ethnobotanical research has identified and assessed the medicinal properties of ۱۷ common weeds in Tehsil Bannu, District Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. There is a growing interest among researchers in investigating the benefits of herbal remedies for human health. Natural source-derived medicines are known for their pharmacological efficacy and generally have few or no adverse effects, making them suitable for preventive healthcare. Through a questionnaire approach, ۱۷۰ interviews were randomly conducted with residents, herbal practitioners, and pansaries. Ethnobotanical information about these widely used weed species was systematically collected, preserved, and documented. The findings suggest that these plant species are effective in treating a variety of ailments.
