چکیده مقاله:

This mixed-methods study assesses how the physical quality of urban green spaces affects women's perceived safety and psychological well-being in the Mahmoodiyeh neighborhood of Tehran. Integrating user perception data with a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design field audit, the analysis confirmed that while the spaces possess strong aesthetic appeal and support energy restoration, these psychological benefits are severely constrained by functional and safety deficiencies. The quantitative data revealed significant user dissatisfaction regarding the lack of welfare and sanitary facilities. This concern is compounded by qualitative findings documenting critical design failures: insufficient nighttime lighting, a high prevalence of secluded spaces/blind spots, and chronic noise pollution from an adjacent busy road. These environmental factors collectively undermine perceived security and tranquility. The findings demonstrate that for these urban parks to fully realize their restorative potential, interventions must prioritize mitigating CPTED-related risks and ensuring adequate maintenance and essential amenities.
