چکیده مقاله:

The advancement of emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, and biometric systems—has revolutionized crime detection, elevating the efficiency, precision, and speed of law enforcement operations. These technologies enable proactive identification, predictive policing, and real-time monitoring, reshaping the landscape of the criminal justice system. However, their rapid integration brings forth significant legal and ethical challenges. Critical concerns include data privacy, the right to due process, algorithmic bias, and establishing accountability for automated decisions. This article examines the future directions of crime detection underpinned by cutting-edge technologies, evaluates the key legal obstacles that arise, and explores the balance required between technological innovation and protection of fundamental rights. Through a synthesis of recent literature, analysis of case studies, and scenario-based futures thinking, the paper highlights both the opportunities and risks presented by these innovations. Recommendations are offered for developing adaptive regulatory frameworks, promoting transparency and oversight, and fostering stakeholder engagement to responsibly guide the deployment of new technologies in crime detection. This study aims to furnish policymakers, legal practitioners, and scholars with a forward-looking perspective on mitigating potential harms while maximizing the societal benefits of technology-driven crime investigation. As technological capabilities continue to advance, law enforcement agencies and legal systems face increasing pressure to adapt. Addressing emerging issues—such as the transparency and explain ability of algorithmic decisions, cross-border data flows, and the integration of ethical principles—will be essential for maintaining public trust and protecting civil liberties. By anticipating potential obstacles and articulating clear, robust guidelines, stakeholders can ensure that crime detection technology is implemented in a way that promotes justice, accountability, and respect for individual rights in an evolving digital era.
