International trade has consistently constituted an informational exchange, from the grand exchange of culture and knowledge of the world to the monotonous interchange of papers, bills of lading, customs certificates, and contracts in triplicate. By rapid development in technology nowadays, contemporary international trade has become progressively digitalized. Indeed, data has emerged as the medium for international commerce. The importance of digital trade has grown exponentially, with global e-commerce sales hitting unbelievable peaks. Studies indicate that digital trade substantially contributes to global GDP, with estimates suggesting it comprises roughly ۱۵.۵% of global GDP. Fragmentation of Legal Standards the absence of a cohesive worldwide framework results in fragmented legal standards, generating substantial compliance difficulties for multinational corporations. A comparative examination of digital economy agreements, such as the UK-Singapore Digital Economy Agreement (DEA), the US-Japan Digital Trade Agreement, and the European Union's approach discloses developing techniques about essential issues and varying levels of ambition in addressing digital trade challenges. This narrative review discusses legal challenges of data sovereignty in Digital Trade Agreements, discovering legal gaps and offering resolutions. It aims to stand by national data governance with worldwide digital trade goals.
