Global Trends in Insurance Supervision

This paper reviews the international development of insurance supervision and analysis of new trends, challenges, and international standards up to ۲۰۲۵. Insurance regulations in the study have been detailed by the authors through referencing several sources, such as the reports of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), in addition to the insurance industry reports produced by Ernst & Young (EY) and Deloitte, and academic articles. The research results show the transition of insurance regulation to a risk-based approach model aligned with the updated IAIS standards, the Insurance Core Principles (ICPs), and the Insurance Capital Standard (ICS). Although there are challenges to the market strength such as economic changes, high inflation, and rising debt. Still, technology and the concept of digitalization, as well as Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, offer opportunities for increased efficiency and financial sustainability. The studies conducted on the new standards indicate that some countries are also adopting them at varying speeds.
