Phyllostachys aureosulcata McClure is a resilient bamboo species primarily cultivated as an ornamental plant in Beijing, Henan, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang, China. In this study, we sequenced and de novo assembled its complete chloroplast genome. The size of the complete genome was ۱۳۹,۷۰۱ base pairs (bp) that contained a large single-copy region of ۸۳,۲۱۷ bp, a small single-copy region of ۱۲,۸۹۱ bp, and a pair of inverted repeats of ۲۱,۷۹۵ bp each. Comparative analysis with ۱۶ other species revealed that the genus Phyllostachys has a conserved chloroplast genome comprising ۱۱۱ unique genes, including ۳۰ tRNAs, ۴ rRNAs, and ۷۷ protein-coding genes. Notably, the ycf۱, ycf۲, and accD genes were found absent. The reconstructed phylogeny of ۱۷ Phyllostachys species confirmed a sister relationship between Phyllostachys aureosulcata and Phyllostachys propinqua.
