چکیده مقاله:
The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of life skills training on resilience and the reduction of suicidal thoughts among adolescents who have experienced social rejection. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest and control group. The statistical population included all adolescents aged ۱۳ to ۱۸ in Qazvin who had experienced social rejection. Using convenience sampling, ۳۰ participants were selected and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Data were collected using the Conner–Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and the Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation (BSSI), both of which demonstrated acceptable reliability and validity. The experimental group received life skills training across eight ۹۰-minute sessions, while the control group received no intervention. After completion of the training program, both groups were reassessed. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The results revealed that life skills training significantly increased resilience and reduced suicidal ideation among adolescents with experiences of social rejection (p < ۰.۰۱). Based on these findings, life skills training can be considered an effective intervention for enhancing resilience and preventing suicidal thoughts in socially rejected adolescents. This study highlights the importance of teaching coping and social skills to mitigate psychological harm in adolescents and provides valuable implications for educational and psychological planning in schools and counseling centers.
