چکیده مقاله:

Magnesium (Mg) alloys are currently receiving special attention for their use in medical applications as degradable implants. This is because of their exceptional properties such as biodegradability, low density, biocompatibility, and sufficient mechanical performance. However, there is an urgent need to develop these properties further by using appropriate processing techniques. The practical application of severe plastic deformation (SPD) on the structure of Mg alloys is one of the successful solutions for producing fine-grained microstructures with excellent mechanical, degradation and cellular behavior. In this work, the microstructure, micro-hardness, and wear properties of AM۶۰ Magnesium (Mg) alloy processed by the modified cyclic extrusion channel angular pressing (CECAP) technique were studied. The microstructure was refined from the average grain size of ~۱۱۴ μm for the as-cast sample to ~۴۰ μm for the sample processed by single-pass CECAP. Also, the results showed an increase in the average hardness and wear resistance after CECAP process compared to the as-cast sample.
