چکیده مقاله:

The global transition toward renewable energy demands flexible, efficient, and low-emission power generation technologies. Micro gas turbines (MGTs) fueled by methane-hydrogen mixtures offer a promising solution to meet these requirements due to their rapid startup, fuel flexibility, and adaptability for decentralized power generation. This article reviews the technological challenges, design adaptations, and environmental impact of methane-hydrogen fueled MGTs, with a focus on performance analysis, combustion stability, emissions control, and the economic viability of retrofitting current systems. Special attention is given to the challenges of hydrogen storage, transportation, and material compatibility, as well as innovations in combustion chamber design to mitigate flashback and high NOx emissions. The promising technology of micromix combustion is considered as an effective design for microturbines running on methane-hydrogen fuel. Products of various companies engaged in the production or research of methane-hydrogen fueled micro gas turbines such as NASA, Mitsubishi-Hitachi group, Kawasaki, Capstone, Turbotec and others are presented.
