چکیده مقاله:

The study introduces a Modified Bond-Based Peridynamics (MBB-PD) model aimed at analyzing delamination growth in Double Cantilever Beam (DCB) specimens subjected to tensile forces. This innovative simulation approach captures both the initiation and progression of damage effectively. In the MBB-PD framework, local imaginary elements are strategically placed around each bond to accurately estimate true strains, enhancing the model's predictive capabilities. The derivation of constitutive relations in this study involves equating the strain energies associated with bond deformations to those described by classical continuum mechanics under generalized combined loading conditions. A significant advancement is the introduction of a novel critical stretch criterion and a critical angle criterion, which facilitate the prediction of failure in normal and shear strain bonds, respectively. Unlike traditional Bond-Based Peridynamics (BB-PD), the MBB-PD model imposes no restrictions on Poisson's ratio, thereby broadening its applicability across various materials. The results obtained from the MBB-PD simulations exhibit remarkable alignment with both numerical and experimental data, underscoring its effectiveness in predicting delamination behavior in composite materials. This advancement represents a significant step forward in the field of fracture mechanics, particularly for applications involving complex material interactions and failure mechanisms.
