The flow Around a Cylinder is one of the most common problems studied in various engineering design applications. This study investigates an active flow control method to reduce unstable vortex shedding at a Reynolds numbers ۳۹۰۰. Suction nozzles with constant flow rates and different angles are placed on the surface of the cylinder. Simulations are conducted using ANSYS Fluent software and the finite volume method to solve fluid dynamics equations. Large Eddy Simulation (LES) is employed to separate and solve large-scale turbulent flow components while modeling smaller-scale fluctuations. The simulation results indicate that suction control can reduce the mean drag coefficient (C d, mean), with the most significant effects observed at ۱۸۰° suction angles. From an acoustic perspective, suction control leads to a noise reduction of ۵.۷ dB, demonstrating that this method is more effective at controlling vortex shedding and reducing noise at ۱۸۰° than other angles. Active flow control using suction can significantly improve drag coefficient reduction, noise mitigation, and suppression of turbulent vortices, making it applicable in various engineering designs, particularly in aerospace and automotive systems.
