Ruling on Bribery in Light of the Holy Quran and the Hadith

Bribery is one of the major disasters and social corruption which has afflicted the human society from past away and continues more intensely، stronger and faster to the present. Bribery has been one of the biggest obstacles against implementation of social justice among Muslims.Bribery is consist of social disaster، moral and faith betrayal which divests the oppressed mass from their certain right and causes grudge and enmity in hearts and prevents the social justice to be implemented among Muslims and promotes depravity and mismanagement and causes corruption and increases oppressed people’s pain and discomfort. Bribery is the serious disease that ruins faith and wealth، individual and society، ruler and sentenced، administration and management. This fatal act is known taboo in Muslims society. Whereas almighty God has said; translation: (Do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly or send it (in bribery) to the rulers in order that [they might aid] you (to) consume a portion of the wealth of the people in sin، while you know it is unlawful). (Albaqara: ۱۸۸). It is also narrated from dear Prophet (peace be upon him) that said; translation: (briber، bribee and the middleman are all damned by almighty God). Therefore، whenever bribery influences a society، it disintegrates the unity of their lives.
