چکیده مقاله:

In bulk forming processes, friction is a key factor that influences the overall behavior of the operation. One defect that may occur due to a high friction coefficient is the barreling defect. In this investigation, finite element simulations were performed under hot forging conditions to examine the deformation of the workpiece with different friction coefficients in both plane strain and axisymmetric scenarios. The barreling coefficient was computed for each instance. Following this, a slip-line field analysis was executed for the condition that exhibited the highest geometric barreling coefficient to analyze the kinematic behavior and force characteristics of the process. Additionally, by applying various length-to-height ratios under a specified friction condition, we identified the minimum barreling coefficient and the optimal pressure conditions.
