چکیده مقاله:

Reinforced concrete (RC) slabs are a type of structural member that may be subjected to impact loads which can result in different forms of failure. In this study, a series of experimental tests were conducted to investigate the effect of using externally bonded steel wire mesh (SWM) on the dynamic performance of RC slabs. Eight slabs, having dimensions of ۷۵۰×۷۵۰×۵۰ mm, were subjected to a freely falling projectile weighing ۱۰۰ kg and ۱۱۴ kg from a predefined height. A detailed analysis was performed to study and compare the crack patterns, failure modes, acceleration and displacement responses between the control and strengthened specimens. It was observed that using SWM enhances the rigidity of the slabs and decreases the mid span displacement. Numerical simulations were carried out using LS-DYNA explicit software. The finite element (FE) results had an acceptable match with the experimental findings. Finally, a parametric study was performed for investigating the influence of changing some parameters on the slab responses.
