Soils are an important part of civil engineering infrastructures that need reinforcement to have a better performance in terms of tensile strength and different types of loads. Geosynthetics and specially geocells are a great tool for effective reinforcing the soil and improving tensile strength and bearing capacity. While geocell reinforcement is relatively new, predicting performance is challenging due to its complex mechanics, interface interactions and ۳D structure. In this study, a three-dimensional numerical model of a foundation based on geocell-reinforced soil was developed in ABAQUS and validated with reliable data available in the technical literature. The focus of this study is to investigate the effect of soil strength parameters on the performance of this type of reinforced foundation. The analyses demonstrate that having a soil with higher modulus of elasticity, internal friction angle, and specific gravity improves bearing capacity and mitigates settlement. The internal friction angle had the largest effect between these parameters; raising it made bearing pressure much better, especially when it was reinforced.
