چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Diving, as a popular sport and recreational activity, requires special attention to safety. Human factors include the skills, experience, decision-making, and behavior of divers, which play a key role in reducing underwater risks and accidents. Education and training of divers in diving techniques, proper use of equipment, and emergency management are important topics. Experienced and trained divers are usually better able to cope with the challenges and dangers of diving. Also, paying attention to environmental conditions such as water currents, temperature, and environmental conditions are other vital aspects of diving safety. Making correct and timely decisions in critical situations is another effective factor in diving safety. Divers who are able to manage stress and fear underwater can perform better in emergencies and reduce risks. Methodology: The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of human factors on diving safety. This article, written in a descriptive-analytical method with an applied purpose, uses sources published in this field on reputable scientific sites around the world. Findings: Studies show that human factors play a decisive role in diving safety, with more than ۶۰% of accidents resulting from human errors such as inattention, misjudgment of conditions or failure to follow safety protocols. Pre-dive stress and physical fatigue significantly reduce individual performance and increase risk-taking, while personal skills and appropriate training, although reducing the risk of accidents, may in some cases lead to false confidence and carelessness. Also, poor teamwork and underwater communication are common causes of accidents, and psychosocial factors such as fear, anxiety and peer pressure can also impair safe decision-making. These findings emphasize the need to pay serious attention to managing human factors alongside technical and environmental issues. Conclusions: The results of this paper show that improving human awareness and skills can directly lead to increased safety in diving activities and reduce the risks associated with this activity.
