چکیده مقاله:

Due to its important role in drug discovery and its ability to significantly modify the physicochemical and biological properties of bioactive compounds, considerable research efforts have recently focused on the development of efficient and selective methods to incorporate the difluoromethyl group into organic molecules. In this context, the direct vicinal hydroxylative difluoromethylation of olefinic double bonds has emerged as an efficient one-step strategy for the synthesis of β-difluoromethyl alcohols from cheap and widely available starting materials. In this review, we provide an overview of the latest developments in this rapidly evolving field, aiming to stimulate further research and innovation.
