Knowledge of Primigravida Women Regarding Exclusive Breastfeeding

Background & Objective: Breastfeeding exclusively or predominantly increases a baby's body fat accumulation during the first six months of life, which may have a significant impact on how their health develops later in life. The present study was conducted to assess the knowledge of primigravida women regarding exclusive breastfeeding.Materials & Methods: This cross-sectional study design approach for one group of the sample was conducted to determine (Assessment the knowledge of primigravida women about exclusive  breastfeeding) from the period of ۱st October ۲۰۲۴ to ۱st January ۲۰۲۵.Results: The highest percentage (۵۱.۷%) of women belonging to ages (۲۰-۲۲ years) regarding educational level, the results report that ۳۶.۷% of the women have primary level, the Primigravida’s total knowledge score.  The results found that the participants who have high education level (college and above) are associated with higher knowledge scores compared to other levels at significant level <۰.۰۰۱.Conclusion: The study concludes that knowledge of primigravida about exclusive breastfeeding was low, setting up programs and seminars about exclusive breastfeeding and motivating the primigravida attendance and involvement result in changes the knowledge, which has a positive impact on the child and mother health.
