Investigating the relationship between spiritual health and academic procrastination of Qom University of Medical Sciences students in ۲۰۲۳

چکیده مقاله:
Introduction: Academic procrastination reduces the quality of education and learning. in this Research, the researchers decided to conduct a study with the aim of correlating spiritual health with academic procrastination in students of Qom University of Medical Sciences.
Method: The descriptive-analytical study is cross-sectional and applied, and the research population was all the students of Qom University of Medical Sciences who met the entry criteria. To participate in the study, people were randomly selected. Written informed consent was obtained from all subjects to participate in the study. Then, people completed three questionnaires (demographic information, academic procrastination by Solomon-and-Rothblooms, and spiritual health by Paloutzian and Ellison) and the data were compared using statistical tests.
Findings: Out of ۱۰۲ participants in the study, ۷۳ (۷۱%) were female. The mean age of the participants was ۲۱.۵۲ ± ۰.۹۹ years. A total of ۶۷.۶% were single. The mean GPA of the students was ۱۶.۴۸ ± ۱.۲۹. The mean score of academic procrastination in this study was ۷۶.۴۸ ± ۷.۱۵, and their mean score on the spiritual well-being scale was ۶۰.۴۴ ± ۱۱.۰۴. In the multivariate regression model, religious well-being was the only variable significantly associated with academic procrastination (p < ۰.۰۰۱), and it alone accounted for ۴۴% of the variance in academic procrastination (R = ۰.۶۶, R² = ۰.۴۴)
Conclusion: The present study revealed that only religious well-being was significantly associated with academic procrastination. This finding highlights the role of religious well-being as an influential factor in reducing procrastination and improving time management among students.
