چکیده مقاله:

As people age, they naturally become at higher risk for developing chronic diseases. Nutritional supplements and regular exercise programs are two effective strategies for preventing these diseases. This review article examines the role of these two factors in improving the health of the elderly. This study examined articles published in the last ۱۰ years using the keywords 'nutritional supplements,' 'exercise,' 'chronic diseases,' and 'elderly' in reputable databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. The articles included clinical studies, meta-analyses, and systematic reviews that analyzed the effects of nutritional supplements and physical activity on the physical and mental health of the elderly. The results showed that nutritional supplements such as vitamin D, omega-۳ fatty acids, and proteins can help improve muscle function and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Also, regular physical activity, especially resistance training, helps maintain muscle mass and improve the quality of life of the elderly. The combination of nutritional supplements and regular exercise programs can be proposed as a comprehensive approach to prevent chronic diseases in the elderly population. It is suggested that policymakers and public health professionals emphasize the importance of these two factors in elderly care programs.
