چکیده مقاله:

The increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) necessitates efficient fast charging solutions, yet high charging rates accelerate lithium-ion battery degradation, impacting lifespan and user experience. This study addresses this problem by investigating a sophisticated adaptive control strategy for fast charging, aiming to mitigate battery degradation. The core assumption is the reliable operation of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and the accuracy of the physics-based thermal model employed. The proposed method dynamically optimizes charging current and voltage based on real-time EIS measurements for in-situ health monitoring and thermal model predictions for accurate temperature management. This adaptive approach is rigorously compared against a conventional baseline constant-current constant-voltage (CC-CV) charging method through experimental validation over ۷۰۰ cycles. The objective of this work is to demonstrate the effectiveness of the adaptive control in balancing fast charging with battery longevity. Important results show that the adaptive strategy significantly retards capacity degradation, achieving ۸۲.۴۱% retention compared to ۷۱.۷۶% with the baseline. It also maintains a more stable and lower maximum temperature and achieves comparable average charging times. In conclusion, the adaptive control strategy offers a promising solution for fast charging of EVs by substantially reducing battery degradation without sacrificing charging speed.
