چکیده مقاله:

This research investigates how technologies and policy frameworks are applied within smart cities to enhance traffic safety, management, and urban mobility. The review covered ۱۳۴ peer reviewed journal articles and included IoT-based traffic systems, AI-driven traffic management systems, image processing, and deep learning as the most common implemented technologies. IoT is considered a key technology because of its capability to consolidate various data inputs for real-time decision making. The research underscores the increased attention on autonomous vehicles, AI-based traffic monitoring, urban energy consumption and optimization, as well as urban governance systems, indicating a movement toward comprehensive traffic safety solutions. The review highlighted the role of advanced technologies in the reduction of traffic accidents and mobility inefficiency, and the need for urban policy frameworks in development. The result is a resource for researchers, urban planners, and policy makers working with smart city technology towards safer and more sustainable transportation systems.
