چکیده مقاله:
EFL involves learning and using English in regions where it is not the primary or native language spoken. TEFL involves teaching English to individuals in non-English-speaking countries, such as our country, Iran. Teachers in our country, who are responsible for TEFL, need to demonstrate effective and high-quality teaching performance. Teaching performance refers to the effectiveness and quality of a teacher's instructional methods, classroom management, and ability to facilitate student learning. MBTI is a popular psychological assessment that classifies people into different personality types according to their preferred ways of thinking, perceiving, and decision-making. The aim of this research is to determine whether there is a relationship between teachers' personality types and their teaching performance. To this end, ۴۳ female ELT students from Zahedan CFU, aged between ۲۲ and ۲۷ and holding an advanced level of English proficiency, were asked to provide their scores in the 'Methods of Teaching Language Skills' course-a practical course in which the score reflects the quality of their teaching performance- along with their personality types as measured by the MBTI test. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version ۲۷.۰.۱ software. The results revealed that extroverted individuals outperformed introverts, intuitive individuals performed better than sensing ones, thinker teachers showed better than feeler teachers, and judging individuals were more effective and successful than perceiving types in their teaching practices, which shows that there is a significant relationship between personality type and teaching performance.
