Comparison of Learned Helplessness, Codependency, in Spouses of Addict and Spouses of Normal Individuals

The present study aimed to compare learned helplessness and codependency between two groups of spouses of addicts and spouses of normal individuals. The research method was descriptive research with a causal-comparative approach. The statistical population included spouses of addicts referring to addiction treatment clinics and counseling centers in the cities of Golestan province, of which ۵۰ spouses of normal individuals and ۵۰ spouses of addicts were selected using convenience sampling. The results showed that learned helplessness and codependency are higher in spouses of addicts than in spouses of normal individuals.
