چکیده مقاله:

The rapid integration of technology into education has transformed traditional classrooms into interactive learning environments, prompting educators to explore innovative strategies to sustain student motivation. Among these strategies, gamification the application of game elements in non-game contexts—has emerged as a powerful pedagogical approach. This study examines the impact of gamification on student engagement and motivation within real classroom settings. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving two groups of middle school students who experienced identical learning content, with only the experimental group exposed to gamified activities such as point systems, badges, leaderboards, and collaborative challenges. Data were collected through classroom observations, student motivation questionnaires, and teacher interviews. The findings revealed a significant increase in learners’ participation, persistence, and enjoyment in the gamified environment compared to the traditional classroom. Qualitative data further indicated that gamification fostered a sense of achievement and cooperation among students, enhancing their intrinsic motivation to learn. The study concludes that gamification, when thoughtfully integrated with curriculum goals, can serve as an effective tool for improving both motivation and engagement in everyday teaching. Practical implications are provided for teachers seeking to implement gamified methods to enrich classroom interaction and learning outcomes.
