چکیده مقاله:

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems are critical for the operation, monitoring, and control of power transmission substations. However, with growing complexities in modern power grids, traditional SCADA systems face limitations in responsiveness, data accuracy, cybersecurity, and interoperability. This paper proposes a multi-layered approach to optimize SCADA system performance in high-voltage transmission substations. Key areas include protocol standardization, intelligent data filtering, system redundancy, network architecture enhancement, and integration with modern IT infrastructure. Real-world observations and technical insights from regional grid operations in Iran are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of these optimization strategies. In addition, the paper emphasizes the role of scalable and modular system design in adapting to evolving grid requirements, including increased penetration of renewable energy sources and the need for real-time decision-making. By leveraging next-generation communication protocols and enhancing system visibility through advanced analytics and geographic information systems (GIS), utilities can significantly reduce downtime, improve fault detection accuracy, and enhance operator situational awareness. The proposed approach not only addresses existing technical gaps but also paves the way for building smarter, more resilient substation automation systems.
