چکیده مقاله:

The excessive release of greenhouse gases from industrial activities and fossil fuel combustion has significantly altered atmospheric composition, contributing to rising temperatures and extreme weather events. In this context, capturing CO۲ has become a critical strategy for reducing its environmental impact, thereby enabling a transition toward a more sustainable, low-carbon economy. Adsorption processes offer a promising route for CO۲ capture due to their energy efficiency and scalability. Among the advanced materials being explored for adsorption applications, MXenes have attracted significant attention due to their chemical tunability, layered structure, and advanced stability in harsh conditions. This study investigates the impact of reactant selection on the purity of Ti₂C MXene by synthesizing Ti₂C from two distinct precursor powder mixtures. The findings reveal that ۱۰ mol% excess aluminum effectively suppresses the formation of the secondary TiC phase, improves conversion efficiency, and inhibits the production of undesired byproducts.
