چکیده مقاله:

Nowadays, researchers are looking for new methods to detect various pollutants in different environments. It should be noted that nanotechnology and nanomaterials can be considered as a new science that is widely used to detect different analytes. Indeed, in recent years, various nanoparticles such as gold and silver nanoparticles (AuNPs and AgNPs) have been used in various systems to detect pollutants. However, the existence of some disadvantages such as high cost, time-consuming and accumulation in the system led researchers to think of more efficient approaches. After different studies, the researchers concluded that a new type of quantum dots, Carbon quantum dots (CQDs), can be used as probes to detect a variety of pollutants. On the other hand, CQDs can detect the various concentrations of diverse analytes including heavy metals, pharmaceuticals residues, amino acids, food additives, and etc. based on the quenching (Turn-off), or enhancing (Turn-on) the fluorescence emission of them.
