چکیده مقاله:

Fiber reinforced polymers are one of the most applicable materials for strengthening of existence structural elements. The lack of strength in materials can be compensated by the significant properties of FRPs as high tensile strength. Masonry is a material with low strength and modulus of elasticity and also low ductility compared to other commercial materials as steel and concrete but the widespread use of this material specially in developing countries caused many damages and also financial loses and personal injuries during past earthquakes. In this study effect of adding FRP in masonry prisms is first tested and then assessed by using a commercial finite element software. Micro modeling approach is studied in this paper as the most precise modeling strategy for little specimens. Results show that selecting a profitable modeling approach can efficiently predict the behavior of masonry structures. It can also show that compressive strength of reinforced masonry is highly enhanced against the unreinforced one.
