چکیده مقاله:

This study investigates the impact of different learning environments, specifically home and classroom contexts, on second language (L۲) development among intermediate-level English learners aged ۱۴–۱۸. Using a mixed-methods design, quantitative data were collected through language proficiency tests and questionnaires assessing motivation and engagement, while qualitative data were gathered via semi-structured interviews and classroom/home observations. The findings indicate that classroom learning significantly enhances oral skills, such as speaking and listening, due to structured activities, direct interaction, and immediate feedback. In contrast, home learning fosters reading and writing skills through self-directed practice, repetition, and autonomous learning. Additionally, motivational patterns differed across environments, with classroom settings promoting social engagement and home environments supporting independent learning. The results highlight the complementary roles of both learning spaces and suggest that blended approaches may optimize L۲ development. These findings have practical implications for educators, parents, and curriculum designers seeking to create flexible and effective language learning strategies
