The Strategic Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran

The complex and considerable impact of culture has resulted in its incorporation into diverse disciplines such as management, international relations, and others, drawing the attention of scholars in these fields to the aforementioned subject. Essentially, strategic culture seeks to elucidate the matter of why nations with similar material structures choose divergent strategies? Under such circumstances, and considering the increasing influence of culture within the realm of security studies, the discussion of strategic culture was put forth. The central question of this research is: What are the factors and characteristics that constitute the strategic culture of the I.R. of Iran? The statistical population for this research, given the novelty, complexity, and specialized nature of its subject, was selected through a non-random, purposive sampling method from among the experts in the field of International Relations, specifically from “certain research centers and university professors in the city of Tehran.” The sample size for this study, from whom the requisite data were collected and the subsequent results analyzed, comprises ۵۰ individuals. A questionnaire served as the principal instrument for addressing the research inquiries. The options within this questionnaire were structured using a Likert scale and multiple-choice questions. To ascertain the validity in this research, the "Content Validity" method was employed. The findings derived from the descriptive and inferential analyses corroborate the factors and characteristics proposed by the author concerning the strategic culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran (I.R.I.).
