چکیده مقاله:
The behavior of shock wave reflection in different levels of flow rarefaction is investigated using the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method. An internal supersonic Argon gas flow over a sudden ramp geometry is considered. DSMC simulations are performed via dsmcFoam module of OpenFOAM package. The effect of different levels of flow rarefaction on shock wave thickness is examined. Results show that flow rarefaction leads to thickening of both incident and reflected shockwaves, with a more significant impact on the reflected shock wave. Non-equilibrium flow regions near the incident points are detected, leading to curved shock profiles.
