چکیده مقاله:

This paper presents a comparative investigation into the aerodynamic and acoustic performance of a toroidal propeller design versus a conventional, or 'normal,' propeller. Numerical simulations and accompanying analyses reveal that the toroidal configuration generates a more uniform pressure distribution across the propeller surfaces and the aircraft body, leading to reduced flow disturbances and delayed boundary-layer separation. Consequently, the aerodynamic efficiency evidenced by lower drag, reduced flow entropy, and smaller tip vortices improves notably. Furthermore, acoustic measurements show that the propeller's peak noise level is approximately ۱۲۴-۱۳۰ dB, in contrast to ۱۴۲-۱۴۸ dB for the conventional propeller, demonstrating a substantially diminished noise footprint. These combined findings underscore the toroidal propeller's potential for enhanced propulsion efficiency and reduced environmental impact, making it an attractive alternative for next-generation aircraft design.
