چکیده مقاله:

Secondary pollutants, resulting from complex gas-phase chemical reactions in the atmosphere, pose a significant threat to air quality and public health, representing a critical challenge in global climate change and environmental issues. Understanding the formation mechanisms of these pollutants and their response to various meteorological conditions is essential for effective air pollution prediction and control. This review compiles and analyzes current knowledge regarding the role of gas-phase chemical reactions in the mechanisms, kinetics, and thermodynamics of secondary pollutant formation, with a focus on ozone (O۳), aerosols, and photochemical processes. By analyzing key findings from numerous studies, this review examines how meteorological factors, including temperature, solar radiation intensity, relative humidity, atmospheric stability, and wind speed and patterns, influence gas-phase chemical reaction pathways and, consequently, alter secondary pollutant concentrations. This review's methodology comprises a systematic search of scientific databases, aided by artificial intelligence, employing relevant keywords, and a qualitative analysis of selected articles according to predefined inclusion criteria (covering study type, publication timeframe, publication language, and study population).
