Analyzing the effect of learning styles on speed and comprehension in English reading

The method of this semi-experimental study is a pre-test-post-test design with a heterogeneous control group. The study population consisted of all female language learners aged ۱۵ to ۱۹ years attending girls' high schools in Zahedan in the academic year ۱۴۰۲-۱۴۰۳, totaling ۲۷۲۰ people. Of these, ۴۰ people were selected as the study sample based on the research entry criteria and were randomly assigned to two groups of ۲۰ people (control and experiment). A researcher-made questionnaire was used to measure the research variables. Before the intervention, both groups were pre-tested, then the experimental group underwent ۸ ۲-hour intervention sessions, twice a week for a month, based on the effect of learning styles on speed and comprehension in reading English. However, the control group did not receive any intervention. The data were analyzed using the multivariate analysis of covariance statistical test. The findings of the study showed that after the intervention, learning styles had an impact on reading speed and comprehension in English.
