چکیده مقاله:

This study investigated the effectiveness of a ۱۲-week Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy (CBGT) program in reducing rumination among individuals with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Fifty-five patients diagnosed with OCD were randomly assigned to either the CBGT group or a waitlist control group. The study utilized a pre-test/post-test design, measuring rumination using the Ruminative Response Scale (RRS) and OCD symptom severity with the Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS) at baseline, post-intervention, and a ۳-month follow-up. The results of a repeated-measures ANCOVA indicated a statistically significant reduction in both rumination and OCD symptoms in the CBGT group compared to the control group. These improvements were maintained at the ۳-month follow-up. The findings suggest that CBGT is an effective intervention for reducing rumination, a core cognitive process in OCD, which in turn contributes to a decrease in overall symptom severity. This study highlights the importance of targeting cognitive processes like rumination in the treatment of OCD and supports the use of group therapy as a cost-effective and accessible treatment modality.
