Light in a Glass Office Building Evaluation of lighting situation in a working environment

Since daylight is the primary source of lighting the interior of buildings, buildings were planned in designed shapes to maximize or optimize available day light. The aim of this paper is to differentiate between artificial and natural light and investigate integration of their applications over the office workers. The paper is based upon empirical studies, including observation of current light situation of a desk in the office made of glass located in Stockholm, and moreover interview with office worker in the specific studied place. Furthermore this has been followed by investigating ‘Visual Experiences of Light’ using seven terms theory from Anders Liljefors, as an analysis tool throughout the whole process.
