چکیده مقاله:

The field of English Language Teaching (ELT) has undergone significant transformation in response to globalization, technological advancements, and evolving learner needs. Traditional face-to-face classrooms, characterized by teacher-centered instruction, rote memorization, and limited interactive opportunities, have proven insufficient for fostering communicative competence, critical thinking, and learner autonomy. The primary aim of this study is to explore strategic innovations in English language teaching and examine how these approaches, combined with smart learning environments, enhance learning outcomes and student engagement. This study employs a qualitative, descriptive approach, reviewing contemporary pedagogical methods, technological tools, and global case studies in ELT. It analyzes the implementation of innovative strategies such as task-based learning, project-based learning, flipped classrooms, gamification, collaborative activities, and mobile-assisted language learning. Additionally, the study investigates the integration of smart learning environments, including Learning Management Systems, augmented and virtual reality, and artificial intelligence-based adaptive tutoring, to create learner-centered, flexible, and immersive educational spaces. The review emphasizes both the pedagogical rationale and practical applications of these innovations across diverse educational contexts. The findings indicate that strategic innovations in ELT significantly improve learner motivation, engagement, and language proficiency. Students exposed to interactive, task-based, and technology-enhanced learning demonstrate higher levels of autonomy, critical thinking, and communicative competence compared to those in traditional classroom settings. Case studies from Europe, North America, and Asia illustrate the effectiveness of blended learning models, immersive technologies, and global virtual collaborations in developing practical language skills, intercultural understanding, and lifelong learning abilities. Moreover, technology integration allows for personalized instruction, continuous feedback, and flexible access, addressing diverse learner needs and enhancing overall educational quality. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that the combination of pedagogical innovation and smart learning environments represents a paradigm shift in English language teaching. By moving beyond conventional methods, educators can create dynamic, engaging, and effective learning experiences that not only enhance linguistic proficiency but also cultivate critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and intercultural competence. These strategies prepare learners to succeed in a globalized, multilingual world and offer practical guidance for teachers, administrators, and policymakers aiming to modernize ELT programs and improve learning outcomes.
