چکیده مقاله:
Organic dyes are widely used in various fields. The most important applications of dyes are in the textile, paper, and leather industries. Since many dyes contain one or more benzene rings, they are often toxic, carcinogenic, and unfortunately, most of them are stable, leading to long-term environmental impact. The discharge of wastewater from these industries into rivers seriously contributes to water pollution. Among the developed physical-chemical methods for removal, adsorption holds a special place due to its low initial cost, simplicity of operation, and lack of secondary pollution, making it a cost-effective method. Recently, with the advancements made, new separation methods have been developed. Today, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted significant attention as adsorbents. The increasing use of MOF units can be attributed to features such as the ease of tuning pore size, shape, and scale by modifying the mineral linkers and types of organic bonds. MOFs have demonstrated a three-dimensional network with a surface area ranging from ۱۰۰۰ to ۱۰,۰۰۰ square meters per gram, several times higher than traditional carbon-based materials. Moreover, efficient MOFs can be synthesized through simple and low-cost methods. The recyclability and reusability of MOFs as adsorbents also make them economically viable and a superior method for dye removal. In this study, a copper-based MOF was used. To this end, the metal-organic framework was synthesized using the sonochemical method. The synthesized adsorbent was characterized using FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM and TGA techniques. After the preparation and characterization of the Cu-TDPAT adsorbent, its activity was evaluated in the methylene blue dye removal. The adsorption parameters including dye concentration, adsorbent amount and time were optimized. This metal-organic framework demonstrated high efficiency in removing of methylene blue dye. This synthesized MOF exhibited excellent recovery and reusability in dye removal, and it also performed the adsorption process with high efficiency.
