چکیده مقاله:

Chitosan (CS) is an unbranched cationic biopolymer in acidic media since it carries a positive charge at pH below ۶.۵. It has been shown that the chitosan-based materials have many valuable bioactivities, including hemostasis, bacteriostasis, fungistasis, anticancer and anticholesteremic activity. Due to its well-known polymeric ۳۰ characters, chitosan has been used intensively in various drug delivery systems. Carbon-based materials such as carbon nanotubes (CNT), graphene (GR), and GO have been used for cross-linking chitosan. The noncovalent approach is commonly used for the modification of GO with chitosan, which can be used for drug delivery. Among the carbon-based materials, GO has been extensively used in drug delivery applications because of its nontoxicity and biocompatibility. The characteristic features of GO are its monolayer two-dimensional honeycomb crystal structures containing randomly distributed polar functional groups on the surface and edges along with large specific surface areas. This helps to carry the drugs via surface adsorption through hydrogen bonding as well as electrostatic interactions. GO has a great ability to support the cross-linked polymer due to its mechanical properties, and this makes the GO-protein composite suitable for drug delivery applications. The graphene-based polysaccharides are water-dispersible, nontoxic, biodegradable, biocompatible, and used for drug delivery applications. In this study, we synthesized and characterized new cationic chitosan@GO as a nanocarrier for load and release of anticancer drug in physiological conditions.
