چکیده مقاله:

Over the past ۳۰ years, we have witnessed the birth and rise of research on Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs). In the first two decades, these studies mainly focused on synthesizing new compounds and investigating their structural characteristics and practical properties in laboratory settings. This extensive research led to the introduction of over ۲۰۰,۰۰۰ new frameworks. This vast amount of research and the undeniable features of these compounds, such as high surface area and pore volume, the ability to enhance functional groups into structures, and their chemical, mechanical, and thermal stability, along with their extraordinary catalytic, photocatalytic, and sensing properties, attracted the industry's attention in the third decade of these compounds' development to apply them in real-world applications. Applications like gas adsorption and separation, water absorption from the air, the production of new sensors, the preparation of antibacterial coatings, and the use of MOFs in food packaging are among the growing fields that the industry seeks to develop. Today, more than ۵۰ startups worldwide are working on the commercialization of MOFs, and this number is increasing, with most of them founded by prominent researchers in this field. In this presentation, we will review the commercialization process of MOFs and their transition from the laboratory to industry, society, and the market.
