چکیده مقاله:
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a distinctive class of ۳D porous materials formed through the coordination of metal ions or clusters with organic ligands. This unique architecture imparts exceptional structural properties, making MOFs highly versatile for a range of applications. Recent advancements in material science have catalyzed the development of MOF-based composites, a new category of MOF materials, which synergistically integrate the advantageous properties of MOFs with various other materials, such as polymers, nanoparticles, carbon- and silicone-based materials, biological agents, and polyoxometalates. These composites not only enhance the mechanical stability and durability of MOFs but also expand their functional capabilities, enabling their deployment in more challenging environments and diverse applications. In addition to the common types of MOF composites, a new generation of composites has emerged, including MOF-Glass, MOF-COF, MOF-Maxene, MOF-on-MOF, and MOF-Zeolite composites. MOF-Glass composites leverage the transparency and thermal stability of glass, providing potential applications in sensing and photonic devices. MOF-COF composites integrate the structural advantages of covalent-organic frameworks, potentially leading to enhanced stability and functionality. Meanwhile, MOF-Maxenes, which combine MOFs with two-dimensional maxene materials, offer unique electronic and mechanical properties for innovative applications in electronics and energy storage. MOF-on-MOF composites aim to combine different MOFs to create synergistic effects, enhancing gas adsorption and separation capabilities. MOF-Zeolite composites benefit from the high thermal and chemical stability of zeolites, making them suitable for catalytic applications and environmental remediation. This presentation discusses the synthesis, characterization, and potential applications of the new-generation of MOF composites, highlighting their role in advancing material science and engineering, and addressing the challenges and future directions in this rapidly evolving field.
