چکیده مقاله:
The emission of carbon dioxide (CO₂) resulting from energy use and venting in chemical processes remains a major driver of global warming and climate change. In recent years, significant progress has been made in CO₂ separation technologies from flue gases, not only for storage and enhanced oil recovery but also for conversion into value-added hydrocarbon fuels such as methanol and methane. This study investigates advanced technologies for reducing direct CO₂ emissions by recycling captured CO₂ into syngas reformers. Additionally, it evaluates indirect CO₂ mitigation approaches through biomass waste management, including pyrolysis and subsequent conversion into methanol. The findings suggest that in the new generation of chemical development strategies, methanol will play a central role as an intermediate for CO₂ recovery and urban-industrial biomass lifecycle management. This underscores the need to evolve methanol production hubs into integrated multi-purpose complexes encompassing petrochemical refining, power generation, and waste management functions.
