چکیده مقاله:

Flame fragment deposition (FFD) technique was applied to synthesize carbon nanotubes (CNTs) from coal as a carbon source by using a homemade reactor. Mg(NO۳)۲ was used as a catalyst on the upper part of the reactor. The burning process was applied in the presence of nitrogen and oxygen gases (۱۰% nitrogen) at ۱۴۰°C. Crystallographic, morphological, and topographic analyses of carbon nanotubes have been studied using powder X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and a photomicroscope. The analysis indicates that the synthesized CNTs were multi-walled carbon nanotubes with an outer diameter of ۳۹–۵۶ nm and ۸–۱۲ graphene layers, and the length of the tubes was arranged between ۲۰–۳۰ µm. The synthesized CNTs were applied for decolorization reaction by adsorption and photodegradation when loading of ۳% of the prepared MWCNT on titanium dioxide (MWCNT/TiO۲). The results indicated that MWCNT enhancing the adsorption efficiency of decolorization of leucine yellow dye and increasing the photodegradation efficiency of titanium dioxide (TiO۲) by ۴۰% compared with pristine TiO۲.
