چکیده مقاله:
The current conceptual study explores the potential of higher education in shifting attitudes from placeism towards cosmopolitanism through Linguistic Influentialism and the integration of AI technologies. Drawing on the P&P Model of Knowledge Development (knowledge production and knowledge practice), the discussion focuses on how learning multiple languages and incorporating AI can challenge power relations in both local and global contexts. By engaging with the notions of 'placeism,' influentialism, and the role of language learning, the argument is made that embracing linguistic influentialism, enhanced by AI-driven multilingual education, can foster global citizenship, inclusivity, and cosmopolitanism in higher education in building future universities. This can be framed as a Pedagogy and Provision (P&P) model. The analysis contributes to the ongoing discourse on the transformative power of language education and AI in mitigating 'placeism' and cultivating a sense of belonging to a larger, interconnected world. This discussion provides a critical perspective on the intersection of language, power, identity, and technology, with implications for educators and policymakers aiming to promote global understanding, equity, and social justice in an increasingly interconnected world.
