چکیده مقاله:

Crude oil refineries have long been the backbone of the global energy sector, converting raw petroleum into valuable fuels and chemicals. However, as the world shifts towards sustainability and advanced manufacturing, the refining industry is undergoing a transformation. Chemical conversion is emerging as a key focus area, allowing refineries to extract high-value petrochemicals instead of just fuels. This shift is driven by declining fuel demand, stricter environmental regulations, and the rise of alternative energy sources. This article explores the evolving role of crude oil refineries in chemical conversion, analyzing how the industry is adapting to future challenges and opportunities. Crude oil refineries are industrial complexes that process raw crude oil into various petroleum products. These include gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, lubricants, and an array of petrochemicals used in plastics, fertilizers, and pharmaceuticals. The refining process involves multiple stages, including distillation, cracking, reforming, and treating, to separate and enhance different fractions of crude oil.
