چکیده مقاله:

If we want to consider a general definition for a smart city, we must say that a smart city is a city that has the highest efficiency in the field of urban life and has six main criteria for smart life, such as smart economy, smart transportation, smart environment, smart citizens, smart lifestyle and smart administrative management. In recent years, the Internet has been able to combine with various objects and create a new branch called the 'Internet of Things' or IOT. In this new branch, various objects have achieved new possibilities by connecting to the Internet, which has made life many times easier for humans. Gradually, the Internet of Things has moved out of homes and taken bigger steps. One of these steps was to step into the field of urban life and be associated with urban services. Large cities in the world, using the Internet and technology, have provided different services and urban life to their citizens, and thus 'smart cities' have emerged. The main goal of a smart city is to optimize urban activities and promote economic growth while improving the quality of life of citizens. A successful smart city has a strong, technology-based infrastructure that enables environmental initiatives. Smart cities are not a futuristic vision; many are already in place or rapidly expanding, thanks to innovative Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. City managers are using low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs) to connect and improve infrastructure, productivity, convenience, and quality of life for residents and visitors. Smart cities rely heavily on technology and data to improve the quality of life for their citizens. However, this reliance on technology also creates significant security challenges, such as cybersecurity threats, data privacy, interoperability, and lack of standards. Initiatives need to be taken to address these challenges and reduce the tradeoffs between security and IoT services in smart cities.
