چکیده مقاله:
This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the impact of translation teaching strategies on improving Iranian EFLs vocabulary. This research is a survey type and its statistical population includes EFL students of universities in Tehran (intermediate level), in three majors of literature, teaching and translation, whose number is infinite. ۱۲۰ intermediate EFL students were selected from the Tehran Universities. The sample include female language students aged ۱۸-۲۷. In the present research, different instruments were used for collecting data. Oxford Placement Test (OPT) was used as proficiency test; ۴۹ multiple-choice items test published by Cambridge University Press was used to measure vocabulary knowledge of participants and Teaching Translation Strategy Items’ Questionnaire was used translation strategies. Data are analyzed descriptively using mean and standard deviation. In trying to accept or reject the null hypothesis, the researcher uses ANCOVA. Statistical analysis is performed using SPSS software. The findings of the study indicated that strategies for teaching translation, have significant effect on improving Iranian EFLs vocabulary.
