چکیده مقاله:

Sperm quality analysis is the most basic and common test used in the field of fertility prediction, which is based on the estimation of important indicators such as motility, morphology and viability. Tamoxifen has been used in the treatment of male infertility, especially in cases of oligospermia and infertility of unknown origin. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of adding tamoxifen on sperm viability parameters in men with oligospermia. Semen was collected from ۲۰ oligospermic men aged ۳۰ to ۵۰ years, referring to infertility clinics, after ۳ to ۴ days of abstinence from intercourse and with full consent to the experimental tests. Then, each individual's sample was divided into ۲ equal parts: a control group without any intervention and an intervention group whose semen was incubated with tamoxifen. Sperm viability was assessed using trypan blue staining. The results were evaluated using the Mann-Whitney test. Tamoxifen improved sperm viability, but these changes were not significant. The addition of tamoxifen improves sperm viability in patients with oligospermia.
